Cinderella - Enchanted Edition

Opening Night By Norm Foster

September 18, 19, 25, 26, 27 and October 1, 2 & 3, 2009
Jack and Ruth Tisdale are about to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with an
evening at the theatre.  It’s a dream come true for Ruth and a nightmare for Jack
who would rather be home watching the World Series.  It’s opening night at the
theatre – the director is nervous, the actors impossible and Jack’s antics light the
fuse that explodes like a time bomb of hilarity.  This hysterically funny
“backstage” play by Canada’s premier writer of comedies is zany, witty and bright.
This is one opening night you won’t want to miss!

The Fantasticks  By Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt

November 6, 7, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20 & 21, 2009
One of the most beautiful musicals ever written, The Fantasticks started out a crowd
pleaser and ended up the longest-running musical of all time with an astonishing
42-year New York run.  This timeless theatrical fable about falling in love, growing
up, and coming home again will warm your heart.  With a gorgeous score featuring
such beloved songs as “Soon It’s Gonna Rain”, “They Were You” and the classic “Try
To Remember”, the Fantasticks will leave you humming its familiar tunes and
pondering its poignant message.  Spend a magical evening with this musical classic
and smiles are sure to “follow, follow…”

Steel Magnolias By Robert Harling

February 5, 6, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19 & 20, 2010

Spend the evening in Truvy’s Beauty Salon in Cinaquapin, Louisiana where six, strong Southern women come together to share their secrets and bare their souls with liberal doses of free advice and gossip.  Robert Harling’s enduring comedy is a heartfelt
celebration of love, loyalty and the bonds of sisterhood.  If you love the movie,
you’ll adore the stage version of this American classic.

The Movie Game By Adam Hummel

March 19, 20, 26, 27, 28 and April 8, 9, & 10, 2010
Jack Goldberg loves movies!  He loves them so much that he can’t keep a job and
still lives with his overbearing parents.  In an attempt to shake the rut he is in,
Jack agrees to see “the shrink to the stars” whose idea of therapy is to have Jack
play the leading man in his own romantic comedy.  In a journey that combines humor
and heart, laughter and love, you’ll be treated to a comedy that tips its hat to
such classic films as The Philadelphia Story, Annie Hall and When Harry Met Sally.
You’ll fall head over heels for this fresh and original winner of the Mark Twain
Comedy Playwriting Award.

Harvey  By Mary Chase

May 21, 22 and June 4, 5, 6, 10, 11 & 12, 2010
Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the basis for one of the greatest films of all time
starring Jimmy Stewart, Harvey tells the story of Elwood P. Dowd, a mild-mannered
friendly fellow who has one little quirk- his best friend is an invisible, six-foot
tall rabbit!  This timeless classic explores Elwood’s vivid imagination in this
joyous romp that bolsters the human spirit.

July 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, 30, 31 and August 1, 2009
The timeless enchantment of a magical fairy tale is reborn with the Rodgers &
Hammerstein hallmarks of originality, charm and elegance. Originally presented on
television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella was
the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium. Its recreation in 1965
starring Lesley Ann Warren was no less successful in transporting a new generation
to the miraculous kingdom of dreams-come-true, and so was a second remake in 1997,
which starred Brandy as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as her Fairy Godmother. As
adapted for the stage, with great warmth and more than a touch of hilarity, the
hearts of children and adults alike still soar when the slipper fits. This Enchanted
Edition is based on the 1997 teleplay.
